Looks like a fixer-upper, but I haven't seen one browsing CL in that area yet. :) Nancy |

Wow Miriam, what a great family you had! Your Grandma sounds like a fabulous person! It would be so cool to have her treadle - even if she did not like it!

Candace did it look complete? The photo looks complete, but did it have the shuttle and bobbin? Any attachments? You must of stopped to see the machine? I am going to try and rearrange our schedule so we can go down there on Monday!
Nancy After going back and looking at the machine - without the stars in my eyes - I see it does not have a shuttle but a bobbin and the foot is missing? |

Charlee, that is my dream treadle! I am going to try and get it! I am glad we won't have to fight over who gets there first!
Nancy If I had the opportunity to do so, I think that one would be right up there with Margie, the 115 on my favorites list! :) |
I recently picked up an ancient Singer treadle frame, the cast iron part, and a newer ( I suspect Chinese made ) wooden treadle top at the local sewing machine shop. The cast iron is very dirty and it's wheels are rusted tight. I'm going to put each wheel in a small can of oil to soak then when the weather warms up I'm going to put the two together.
As of yet I have not decided which machine to put in it. I'm thinking of Mr. Lucky. He is a Singer 66-16 that came to me motorized but with a large spoked hand wheel. I switched out the hand wheel for a smaller solid one and he runs much better, but for treadle use I can put the big one back on very easily. Or, perhaps I'll put my Singer 9W-7 in it while I'm working on repairing it's original base and top. To many choices ...... I need some Excedrin. Joe |

Monica might know something. She has a Standard - I believe that is the machine who can get a spider attachment for to do a chain stitch? Monica?
Nancy Nancy, The Pfaff's treadle is gorgeous, and I love the chrysanthemum decals that are on it. Very lovely machine! |

Ok, I have that program recorded - haven't had a chance to watch it yet! I am glad you warned me! I am not so sure I want to see Stephen is the buff! It has been so nice here in sunny California, and the days are getting longer so I have been out riding or weeding most of the time!

Sharon, Purplefiend, Where did you go? I sent you a PM. Anyway, if you are ever in CA visiting your brother give call me. I would love to meet with you.

Bennett, if you are up to restoring the cabinet, that would be a very nice machine to have! I'd be willing to bet you could get if for much less too, because of the condition it is in!
