OK, here's the link for whoever wants to see it. It's the head only, no treadle at this price. They have one but not the original. Anyway, not bad looking. Wish it was at least in the Western U.S.!!!!

At least this one has the spool canister! It is a good price too, but she does not ship!

Janice,

Yes, I am and I wouldn't mind finding a 230, but Bakersfield is a very long trip for me!

I have the right type of oil for the oil spots but want to make sure I use the right stuff for the gears on my machines. My plan is to begin to clean up and lubricate all of my working vintage machines before beginning to get those who don't work... up and working. :)

You know, I always use Singer Lubricant. It is made for sewing machines. I have had very good luck with that lubricant. The stuff comes in a small tube and most sewing shops sell it.

Thanks Mom3 and Miriam. Do you get Tri Flow Grease and Tri Flow Oil products through Sew-Classic?

I think Sew-Classic carries both but I get it at my local bicycle shop. :)

Nancy,

to the best of my knowledge the only significant difference is the -20 has a larger bobbin and bobbin case that the -15. they were both manufactured during the same time frames. No need to woryy.

Ok Cathy, now you've got me worried! My 31-15 looks much older than my 31-20, and the serial number is completely worn off so I don't know its year, but I'm guessing 1910's to 1920's? My 31-20 is from 1925, but in much better shape than the 31-15. Now tell me about the bobbins? What is the difference? As you can tell, I haven't played with either yet!

Nancy,

These needles are all the same except for the scarf area. Consider them interchangeable.

Cathy, when I looked up the needle size this is what I got. The 31-20 uses a 16x87 - the electric machine; but, the treadle uses a 16x73? I bought some 16x87's for my 31-20. Will that work on the 31-15 and are they right for the 31-20?
