Hey, look here! http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/fuo/3002367888.html
Appaerently, we are all sitting on millions of dollars of machines! I mean, if you can get 1K for a franklin with nice scarab beetle decals, imagine how much I can get for a Singer! ( OK, dropping the tongue in cheek) Laura

Erm, what?

I have a Franklin like that only in better cosmetic condition that lives in a Parlor Cabinet. It must be worth $5,000 then.
Wow! I don't know. Some folks just spend too much time in la la land I guess.
That is nice machine and ensemble, but it's not worth anything near the asking price.

Brynn,

Did you check out the links? He's shilling for a sewing machine repair course. Great add writer. Sounds just like one of those TV adds where the announcer prattles on and on and on telling you absolutely nothing. Just hooks you in to get you to buy something.

Down at the bottom it says "Save $600
When You Purchase
The Complete Sewing Machine Library.
Get All 18 Volumes Plus Over 4,000 Pages
Of Vital Sewing Machine Repair Resources."

I wonder what the actual price is?

So- he Just joined and is soliciting business here? Is this allowed?

Apparently not, as the posting has been removed! We have a lot of information right here for the members to read through and learn from. And everyone is so good to answer those 'stupid questions' that we always come up with. Who would want any more than we have right here? And then too Miriam has taken some classes from Ray, and can share what she has learned from him. We have the best right here!!!

Yes, The $20 VF2 that was listed yesterday as pick up only. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask and he quoted me the $66. Should be quite a bit less for you.

Jon

OK....maybe I'll ask!!

Added: I asked....I got the same $66 as you! Way high!!

Ray's class will teach you generic sewing machine repair which is what you want. That video someone is trying to sell will teach you some about various machines but you won't be able to figure out other machines. We are repairing a bit of everything in here. I've got quite a few done already and several of my machines are already repaired by other people. I brought enough that we won't run out of machines to work on - thanks for the idea Cathy. I'm getting ready to try my wings on a PGM (plastic garbage machine).
