I see that it threads quite a bit like my Singer 15-90, except that the needle gets threaded from left to right. Very pretty Morse Redbugsullivan!

Hi everyone...I wanted to let you know I didn't drop dead or anything. I can't get on this site from my work computer any more due to all the advertising junk on here now...it gets stopped halfway through loading by our firewall settings. Anyway, I have been so busy at home in the evenings and weekends I haven't been on my home computer in about 3 weeks.

Nothing new here....my hubby finished the Frankentreadle, but still needs to make the plates for my other heads. The New Glenwood is still sitting in it, but can't use it becauwe it's missing a spring that should be holding the feeddogs mechanism against a cam type thing. So, not using it yet. DH has been ill and off work, so I haven't been asking him to do any extra projects for me.

So, how's everyone?? Good I hope. I'll try to drop in more often....if I get any free time at home....hahaha! That's really an inside joke!! You all take care. Janice

Glad to see you back on here. Hope all goes well with you.

This photo helps a lot! Melinda's drawing looks basically like the one I was using except mine states that the thread is to run from right to left through the tension discs before going over the bar (C). Both the line drawing and the photo are much clearer. I'll try again! Got busy moving firewood and mucking horses.

As far as threading goes Muv has a video on how to thread a Singer 15: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2tii...re=uploademail Be sure to post the pic of your clone here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...p-t164361.html That is one handsome collection on there isn't it? applause!

So today I get a call from my friend who is at the Habitat ReStore here, and she's telling me about an old Singer sewing machine they have there...just got it in, not priced, they don't know what it's worth....I managed to get out of them that it's a 31-20, and then heard them telling the guy not to sell it until Charlee got there and told them what it was worth! :D I went on my lunch break.

The person that donated it had masking tape all over it with, "For sewing leather", "Made in 1898" (the patent date), and "Manuals and attachments available". What I found was a 31-20....with a patent date of 1898, but made in 1915. REALLY rough decals and Japaning...big motor, good wiring...it had been converted from a treadle, and the treadle pedal had been removed, other than that, had really nice irons.

I told them to price it at $150....but to be willing to take as little as $75 for it. I also told them that to prevent other sales like my friend got there a couple of weeks ago, where she bought a really nice short bed, mocha 301 in a cabinet for $5, to give me a call before they price sewing machines! Also told them to let me know when they get them in and I'll service them for free...

I'm not as nice as they think I am tho... :D Gives me a chance to play with machines without buying them, and if they get a really good one, it gives me first shot at it!! :D Yes Fans.....there's method to my madness!!! :D

I've done everything I can. Muv's wonderful video confirmed that I have threaded it correctly. Still, the bobbin thread Based upon the bobbin case, I am suspecting the adjustment is too tight. While I am hesitant to adjust the bobbin screw that is the only clear option available. There were two shuttle cases in the shoebox that went with the machine...

You are a wise woman with a thrifty sense of education! Good on you Charlee!! That is a win-win any way you look at it.
