Congrats on your first treadle and you got a good one. These machines are great for binding and straight line quilting. You can get a manual for your VF2 at the Davis VF Yahoo group:

The Vertical Feeds can be pretty accurately dated by the serial number on the front slide plate from warranties on file:

Thank you Jon! I went to the Needlebar site - my serial # is 683526 - under model it says Underfeed or Manufacturing - not sure what that means? When I lift up the machine there is a VF stamped on the underside so I am confused lol. Any help would be appreciated. Also - she was missing her shuttle and bobbin and I was fortunate to find one on ebay so once that arrives I can see how she works. Going to spend some time this week cleaning her - watched Muv's video so feel a little more confident.

That is sew cool looking, that little cup like thing that the foot goes into is very interesting. Thank goodness it is already put together for you. Show us some ruffles made with it.

I would use Goo Gone. I think it's orange based. You can also use it on clothing. I used it to remove pine pitch. N

I'm not seeing how this is going to attach to your machine? I have two of these, and both have the "hook clamp" that the other attachments have...

it may well not line up with the 8's needle bar. We shall see.

Both of mine fit both my W&W8 and my Singer 9W... I guess I'm just confused as to how this is going to attach to the machine?

Thanks for this Sharon... I didn't notice anything but was being light-handed. I'll have to do a test somewhere to see at what point the paint starts to dissolve.
