Thanks (I'm all embarrassed). So to change the subject, I fixed up someone's 99k last night:

After.
Only took four hours ;) Had to replace a wire (the goes to the knee controller).

well done! Inspiring work. Don't be embarrassed, you earned the praise, and you use it to motivate yourself going forward, not to prop yourself up and rest on... well done.

Gorgeous cabinet, Macybaby. Hope mine looks as nice when I get it. My dd is giving me one for my birthday. she got it from a friend of hers. didn't know she knew anyone who sewed except me.

My friend gave me a new toy last week. Its the same model as yours. Once I learned how to thread it, I was able to sew some string blocks; perfect stitches too.:D It's a 1917 White Rotary, I'm so happy that its all mine. I hope to find a cabinet for it, want to remove the motor and treadle it. The #2 picture shows the pile of compacted lint I found under the feed dogs and in the bobbin area. I'm glad it was stored inside someone's house, no rust; it just needed to be oiled. The wiring is in very good condition too.

I bought this cabinet and machine today, for $75. However the whole thing reeks of stale cigarettes. YUCK!

Well, it looks like they took the pictures through a haze of cigarette smoke, so I am not surprised.

They thought it might make a nice bathroom sink?

Cathy, how did you get your treadle top to go back to that lighter colour? It looks fantastic.

Really pretty cabinet Sharon! I hope that once we get the black paint off mine will be a pretty warm oak again.
Good luck with the removal of the smoke smell...maybe start with baking soda in saucers set in the drawers? It won't cause any damage and maybe will help

I have an Actor buddy who likes to walk through his neighborhood in Hollywood including the local businesses. There is a small family bookbinder shop that has this in the front of the shop. The owner used it for book binding until the needle broke. I'm helping to get it ID'd and the correct needle determined. (I have my opinions but for now, mum's the word)
