What I've found is that the darker look of the old cabinets is from the finish darkening over the years. If you remove the finish, you'll find the original stain is more natural in color
This is "before" http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psd97bfa31.jpg And this is "after" http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps3528b9f7.jpg |
I am hoping we get that result eventually...sighing over your pretty cabinet.

I have a second cabinet but unfortunately it has a different opening so I can't trade them out unless my hubby and son can to an "under pan transfer" and an opening modification. As you can see the machine isn't in bad condition but the decals are half off. Funny thing is that the center of the bed should have a decal but it looks like someone removed it in the past and left light gouges and one deep gouge in it's place! Sharon W. |
Yep looks like my machines sister or cousin!
Good luck on locating a cabinet and the motor-ectimy. |

Great gobs, Macybaby; that is incredible! Is it solid oak, or veneer? How did you strip it? Was it a shellac finish originally? Cannot believe how gorgeous it is now. Wow wow wow. Please tell me more. |
Mike. Dude. You and Yer Poppa did an amazing job. Wow. Wow. I am humbled.
