Singer Featherweight
I recently purchased a 1948 Featherweight. It sews like a dream. I was wondering how often it needs to be oiled. According to the singer booklet that came with it there are LOTS of places to oil.
Any suggestions?

Usually the suggestions is every 8 hours of sewing. It really doesn't take too long to oil once you've done it a few times. Basically, the oil holes and wherever metal rubs against metal. I can do the upper parts quickly, but always grumble about having to unplug the machine and flip it onto its side so I can oil the underside.
An oiled FW is a happy FW!

Go to the ISMACS.com manuals section. They are free to download. These FW machines love oil and run on it. Like they said, every 8 hours of use. Get one of those new LED lights for it. You will be pleased.
