I inherited mine after nursing my BBF for 6 weeks. It was costly in terms of emotion. I named it after her,a nickname. It is in great shape, has case and key, manual and all the sewing feet. Even has the original oil and grease. Sews nicely.

I bought two featherweights one a 1951 Centennial model and the other one a 1953 version for $60 for both machines. The man selling them (one was his mothers and the other his aunts) had no idea what he was selling and was pleased that he got "so much money" for a couple of old machines. They both had decent cases, all regular attachments, keys and buttonholers. My DD's white one was a gift from a neighbour cleaning out her mother's house.

Oh, I'm so happy go see this! I paid $40 for mine although the seller was only asking $25....he was a friend. DH picked up box of attachments for another $5.00. I made the original seller a baby quilt for his first daughter as additional payment. Granted, I had the original seller looking for me for a couple of years before we stumbled on one.

I had been watching eBay for months and was getting discouraged at how much Featherweights in good condition with case, attachments, etc. were going for.
One day, I searched Buy It Now, newly listed. A wonderful Centennial Featherweight came up, just listed, for $240, free shipping. As I scrolled through the description, my heart kept beating faster and faster, and I couldn't click the Buy It Now button fast enough! She's awesome, purrs like a kitten, and accompanies me to every retreat. I call her Violet.

I found mine for $27.00 at my favorite thrift store on Martin Luther King day when my boys were still in high school just dropped them off for early wrestling practice had 40 bucks in my pocket so I went there. It was my lucky day. I spied that black case from the doorway of the shop. Lol I RAN to get it!

I paid $300.00 for mine but they are rather hard to find in my neck of the woods. I bought it from eBay but the big bonus was the seller was right here in Canada so shipping was much more reasonable & no tarifs, which I would have had to pay if I bought one from the U.S. In really good condition but the case smells which seems to be a common problem with FW. All in all, I was very pleased with my purchase.

Got my first one for 180 from Ebay. Everything included, bad case that is now a tool box (but that's a different post). The second I got for 140 at a consignment store in Phoenix. No attachments, no badge. My friend's son works there and they were just starting up. So I helped out.
Have two granddaughters. The younger one's been sewing since she could reach the machine. The older one started just the other day (she's 19) and it was on my featherweight. So I guess she gets one of these when she gets her own place.
Got a card table on Ebay the other day for 90 and broke down and bought a new carry case. So one of the FWs is complete.
