Default Modern Super De Luxe 142

I need help finding information a Modern Super De Luxe Zig Zag 142 machine. I found some information on 142-B machines but nothing on a 142. The serial number is SAZ 5Y0460. Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

Welcome. Does the 142-B look the same? It could have many different names for the same or extremely similar machines. Does the machine have a JA or JC with some number either cast or stamped on the bottom of the machine.

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?

Another way to post pictures can be found at 2021/2022, 2.5” Birthday Swap
And how to use an ipad to post pictures can be found at Uploading photos

Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon
Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post)
Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload"
After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.

If it is the one I think it might be, there is a similar one at http://carlasvictorianheirlooms.blog...-from-mom.html There is also a couple of threads here on QB about Japanese machines. One has 200 replies and the other has 562 replies. Vintage Japanese 'Badged' sewing machine with fancy stitches and Vintage Japanese 'Badged' Zig Zag and Straight Sew Sewing Machines

Thank you. Here are a few pictures. There is a JA13 stamped on the bottom.

According to the list at http://www.doubleveil.net/zssmp/resources.htm#jajc your machine was probably made by Koyo.

I can't tell for sure, but it is possible that you may have what is considered a left homing machine. That means that if machine is set for straight stitches then the needle will stitch only on the left side of the oval of the zigzag foot. That is a nice looking machine. You should be able to remove the top and nose to oil the machine where metal meets metal. Try not to get any oil on the plastic gears or cams if it has any. Also oil where metal meets metal on the bottom of the machine, too.

Have fun with you new machine.
