Default Trying to Identify an Antique Singer, possibly a 201-3, but I need help.

I purchased this machine at a yard sale and have been trying to ID it for the past few days without much luck. I have posted photos of it in an album called My Singer 201-3. http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...bums17639.html

Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Alaska

I saw your thread and I immediately thought of Frank Sinatra. He's the only antique singer that I know. LOL

That's a Featherweight, a 221. Just out of curiosity, what suggested it was a 201-3?

a 201 would have the #'s on it under the badge. You have a singer Featherweight, a nice one too from the looks of it. Did it come in a little black case? It only weighs about 11 lbs. the 201 weighs at least 25. I know because I have one of each.

It is a 221, AKA Featherweight. Looking at your pictures, the one of the botton shows the serial number, looks like AH988520, would date from 1948. Lucky you!

I think you lucked into a featherweight-221. I've been looking for one I could afford for 2 years. Would you mind sharing how much you paid for this little beauty?
