Default Very Very Cool

This is not vintage or antique, but I thought some of you in this section would like seeing it. I love the design and concept.

Very cool looking, but I think I would have difficulty pressing on the bed with my left hand to control the machine while trying to feed the fabric at the same time. Do you put one hand under the fabric to press on the bed and then guide the fabric with the right hand? Or do you press on top of the fabric and push the fabric at the same time? I wish they had shown someone sewing on it in the video. Is a foot pedal or knee pedal really difficult to use?

As a piece of art, it is pretty cool, but as a sewing machine, it doesn't look very practical.

It doesn't look very intuitive to me, either.

Sheluma, I had the same thoughts this afternoon. I think the machine gets a Fail.

As you sew, you want both hands free, able to lift, push, pull, arrange fabric. If the left hand needs to be pushed down in order to operate the machine, then I forsee a nauseating start-stop-fast-slow thing all the time, for the left hand cannot remain constantly pushed down. Each time you would adjust the fabric, the machine would stop. And you could only sew a few stitches at a time before having to lift your hand to free up the fabric.

I don't actually think the foot pedal is a problem for people's co-ordination, is it? But if it is, then this girl is on the right track - and maybe a forehead-pushed comfy lever sticking out from the top of the machine would work better! ;-)

Still, I think it is nifty that someone did this. I am always impressed with Different Thought! :-)
