Smile Bought a Singer Treadle!!!

I went to an auction tonight and bought a Singer treadle in a six drawer cabinet for $20!!! Looks like it needs the plate over the bobbin, maybe the bobbin case, some decal work and the cabinet needs some refinishing. For $20, I just couldn't resist. Yay!!!! Will post pictures as soon as I can. I will probably have lots of questions as I get into the machine but I have to first find out what model it is. I have the serial #...can anyone on the forum help with this or should I go directly to Singer? Thanks for the help.

I also bought a toy sewing machine (have to research brand). My husband bought a heavy-duty automotive floor jack. A very good night at the local auction house!

I'm quite envious Anita. A six drawer cabinet alone is worth well over $100! Love to see the pictures.

You can look up the serial number here http://www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_...-database.html to find out the model and date of manufacture... but I think you should post pictures here, just to confirm.

Picking it up from the auction house sometime this week. Will post pictures ASAP. I am excited to get it. Just have to figure out where to put it as space is at a premium. Thanks for all the good wishes!

Good for you! I was lucky about 2 weeks ago with a Singer Treadle at auction--maybe not quite SO lucky price-wise but almost! I have to do some clean up, etc. I have the bobbin case (maybe 2) but am also missing the bobbin cover plate (wonder if that's typical?). Did you get one of those nifty accordion wood accessory boxes? i got 2 and full of goodies. The treadle belt is toast so that needs replacing. How to you intend to refinish the wood table or do you intend to do that?
