Default Vintage Domestic Sewing Machine questions

Hi. My DD just inherited a Domestic sewing machine from her grandmother. It's in a cabinet and I couldn't locate a serial number just by looking under the machine or on the bobbin case area. Can anyone tell me where to locate the serial number and if I can get a manual for the machine. It seems to run really well, but I haven't tested it with thread. It needs some cleaning up and some dusting but other than that I think it should be a great machine. Thanks for all your help. Pictures below.

I found the model number and the serial number on the machine. It's a Domestic Model 801 and I can get a manual for $10.00.

There is a Yahoo group for vintage White machines. Here is the link for it, in case you are interested:

You can usually get lots of info from the Yahoo groups.

Thanks for the help.

I gave her a bath this morning and she cleaned up real nice. I think she needs some oil and after I do that I'll try her out and see how she stitches. Here's a picture of her cleaned up.

Join that Yahoo group before you buy that manual...you may find a copy of the manual in the files!

Default Domestic 801 White

Are you happy with your machine. I just bought mine at a yard sale. $40. Works!

Welcome aboard, David.gooch. You are responding to a thread that is 10 years old. You may be better off starting your own The vintage Sears and White Facebook page is a busy place.
