Maybe someone from the Treadleon group that doesn't use their machine will sell. Every time I have seen a posting for a Two Spools or Davis, I have thought of you. I too wish these machines would show up close to you since you would make an excellent steward. Just from reading your posts on this QB thread, I have learned lots. One example is your own Singer 201 in treadle. Somehow the machine finds us! I would love to see you make those scrappy donation quilts that you make using a Two Spools. That would be awesome!

Probably a dumb question, but why, oh why, did they quit making two spools??? Seems to me they should have been the wave of the future. Crazy! I get so tired of sewing and getting into it and finally notice three feet back I ran out of bobbin thread! Happens way too frequently!
I think it was someone on Treadleon that recently explained that the Two Spools works beautifully at treadle speed, but the speed from a motor on this sewing machine was too much for the spool can's mechanics. So, the popularity of owning a machine with motor won. I purchased one Two Spools that at one time had a motor attached to it and one that had only been treadled. I believe the one that had a motor, most likely had the motor added when it became the fashion to own a machine with motor.

I've double checked my threading and replaced the needle correctly. Maybe there's a burr I can't see in the hook? I didn't really have time to investigate as it's my daughter's b-day party this evening. I'm happy my 301 sews, but it's not "right" so my detective hat will be on. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't think the timing would have something to do with this, but maybe?

Go for it! And I do NOT know this person. I just want to see this machine go to someone that not only collects vintage sewing machines, but also will use this machine for quilting.
