Vintage Sewing Machine Shop.....Come on in and sit a spell
Donna; DH gets them from work. Lily is pretty talented with them. She can get the packaging open that they come in plus she can catch them in the air or bat them back at me while plug is in midair. She carries them in her mouth and is very affectionate if she has one and wants you to notice so you'll play with her. Ah yes, I am well-trained by my cat. She also can remember the space/area where you got the latest plug from so she can help herself later if her wait staff are completely unobservant or even sleeping. ~ Chris
1926 Singer 127
I was given this Singer 127 as a boat anchor and I decided to practice cleaning and restoring on it. There were some kind of mud nesting bugs that had half flilled the face insides and all across the arm of the machine. It was rusted solid on the inside.
Well I have it as good as I can get it. She is still missing a front slide bobbin plate, shuttle and bobbin and in the cleaning her bobbin winder broke. She is going into storage until I decide what to do with her, but she is clean and turns easily now. Maybe she just needs a new home, too.

Wow!! Thanks, Monica! Yes, we had a great time doing the show. We are planning on expanding the antique & vintage sewing machines exhibit next year, maybe putting some around in other areas of the hall with little vignettes set up...antique quilts under the needles, that kind of thing. The quilts were just grand this year! Such talented ladies. One of our members won Best of Show at Road to California this year...she and a friend of hers made a quilt that is just out of this world. The other lady does the piecing and applique, and she does the quilting sitting down with her Bernina on a table. No long arm!! She has won Best of Show at other national shows for her quilting. She is just amazing!

Off topic I'm making my dough for the beignets. The dough needs to chill for at least 4 hours. Plan to snack on some after dinner tonight!

Oh, you have to go on the Road to CA website to see the Best of Show quilt! It's amazing! Our member's name is Cindy Seitz-Krug. One of the best machine quilters I have ever seen!!
