I think it was on this site but I just can't find it! There was a discussion on the Davis NVF reverse button. The discussion was that it is not a reverse but a back tack. I was glad to hear that since I remember opening the faceplate on mine trying to fix the reverse action and I was not successful. However, I put the Davis NVF in its cabinet today and tested it out - my Back Tack button works as it must have been designed. It simply puts the needle back in the same hole over and over again until I release the button. That is similar to what my Bernina 440QE does to secure stitches at the beginning and end of some patterns. Anyway, even though I can't find the discussion, thank you for this different take on the button, I can relax now knowing that my machine is indeed working.

Well everyone, my new Pfaff 230 came yesterday! As usual Miriam packed that machine so well it could have been dropped from a high rise! I had a time cutting the machine out of the packing, bubble wrap, styrofoam!
Miriam, the machine arrived in perfect condition! I will take photos as soon as I can of both my new Pfaff 230, and Pfaff 360! The 230 came with attachments, the stitch wheel, everything it needs. My 360 came with nothing but the case! Geeze, does that machine need a stitch wheel too? I haven't had a chance to really look at the machine because I have not shown it to hubby yet!
If you guys want to purchase a machine that has to be shipped - get it from Miriam! She is the best at packing those things! These Pfaff's weigh close to 45 pounds each! Thank you Miriam!

Amen to the Miriam Sewing Machine Packing technique. I can vouch that she does well.

blush - thank you - I know how important it is to get a machine in one piece. I sweet talk the FedX guy into being very careful... Think that works???

I'm really surprised that the Singer Medium has such a small working space when the machine is so large. I have a Bradbury Medium which is almost the same. So I just went and took the measurement on it and it's working space is only 7 7/8" ( I would have lost that bet).
I dug out my Singer 12 and it's measurement is 6 1/8".
Anyone else have a machine we haven't listed?
Cathy
