There it sits but on a new Home stand, you see it's wood legs, those legs come out by removing one screw and loosening an other , then just pull off.
That stand is 21" wide, the common singer is 22" wide. I'll add photo's showing why that makes a difference.
The cabinet, you could replace those drawers with fancier drawers, it's only screws. the center piece, drawer / belly pan . replaceable via screws

this section is semi sanded and just laying there , same with the lid ( not pic'd ) all this is singer factory parts they even have there part # engraved
The large top piece is a press board core, with oak face and some other wood as the backing, everything else is oak

shows how the legs attach. remove the upper screw and loosen the bottom one

the rest of the leg support, face panel / belly pan is fell in with pocket screws, the piece by the drawer frame. is 7/8's thick and on both sides. that thickness is to much to fit in a singer 22" wide stand. those could be placed with a narrower piece or if you have it the original singer belly pan
drawers are just like the old time ones held on using 4 screws,, better yet on these top and bottom's of the drawer frames are drill with screw holes, meaning they fit on either side
whats left of a new home I picked up years ago. Do you want to repair this ?

how's this ? treadle ? or ????
with teh center removed any singer treadle stand would fit right in there

this that piece in the center basically just like the old school, held in using pocket screw instead of L brackets. you could modify that into any drawer/belly pan you want

cabinet is now sanded, tomorrow is staining and back together. I have no clue as to what years these were made.
It did sit in that trailer for the 25+ years, soaking wet trailer. you can see it is taken apart.
There is zero delamination to the wood, only thing bad was the shellac was doing what it's famous for. it's made with modern glue, so it has weathered the storm
after being inside and out of this cabinet add the fact that I have done a few others in my life time. There is no way you could do a total rebuild on a singer treadle cabinet ( bad one) cheaper than using one of these as a project base,

That original New Home cabinet is a little far gone. If it's not riddled with worms I'd save the wood for other projects though. It's been a few years since I checked. At that time good white oak was around $8 a board foot. Probably more now.
I hang onto every old screw or other bit of hardware too. There are a lot of differences between the old and new.

O that wood is riddled with worms , They must have gone to heaven 80 years ago
in the early 70's I did a white FR cabinet, Rotted as bad as this is. wire brushed, sanded for hi light, coated top and bottom with fiber glass resin , turned out solid as a rock and had a rather different look

this is the under side of the machine hinge, as most know these hinge tear loose and the wood is then damaged
singer did us a favor and installed these nuts, I forget there name, another plus on this cabinet, a possible fit for the old cabinets

went after more stain today and got caught up in looking at more treadles, so I did get started on this until after 1:30
Thats what it would look in treadle form

there it is right back to wooden legs

the top of the lid, the light colored strips , thats in the wood. this happens when the wood/ tree is peeled close to whats known as sap wood ( outside edge) most likely the reason singer stain this cabinet in pickled oak ( white)
This is the very start of staining, here it has 2 coats I'll fine sand, do an other staining the it will sit for a week or more. It's a stain/sealer after one day it is usable could be just waxed, but would need rewaxing every few weeks, my choice of finish coat is lacquer. reason is thats very tough lasting finish with no worries of water damage. after all these are a tool to be use, as in tossing scissor, coffee cups ect on it working surface..

here's a problem refinishing any thing that was pickled oak. The pickle is nothing more than white paint. what you see is after scraping off the shellac and sanding what could be gotten to. The drawer knobs are glued in place, so those can not removed with out breaking them.. These drawer faces are veneer, I did sand throug on the top in one spot. it's thin veneer. I choose to stop at this point.
Then sand only down to 220 grit paper, that leaves the white porous enough to take the darker stain

On this end. I did not sand this area enough, to get it porous . I will need to resand that and stain it over.

This is at the end of today with it's 15-91 back in place, under the handwheel, where the lifter normally is. It's just a hole. under the cabinet there is no signs of this ever having a lifter.
Those that have this cabinet what is in yours under the wheel.
