You can't get the yardage as in a shop, but you can find really beautiful fabrics! I bought a XXL red plaid men's cotton shirt at a garage sale Sat. for $.25 and 2 red plaid skirts at a thrift store last week for $.99 ea. One pleated skirt has almost 3 yards! The other is at least 1 1/2 yds around at the hem and is about 34" long. Lots of fabric for $2.25!
I agree with you 100% Pollyv9 I have been doing this from the begining , and it works for me, I have also found really nice bolts
of fabric at the thrift shops , sometimes there like 4 yds are so on them and there's not a thing wrong with them.. Myself I'm not out to impress anyone with my quilts as I do it for a Hobby and the love of sewing , so I for one want worry about the price of fabric going up all I need is to haul it home and enjoy what I do.
