Usually meals are very simple: sandwiches, cereal, bisquits and sausage, baked potatoes, tacos, hot dogs. Sometimes we plan to "go into town" for dinner one night.
This is a great way to hold a retreat. My group rents the fellowship hall of a local church for a Friday & Saturday retreat. It is large and has plenty of tables for everyone and really good lighting. We are there from 9am to 9pm, and then go home to sleep in our own beds. The hall has a full kitchen, so we ask everyone to bring food to share. There is usually so much to eat that we could feed an army. Our only cost is the fee for the building, so each person pays a nominal amount
