Knowing that my son would be starting school the following year.I told them I wanted a sewing machine because I had always thought that I would be the mom that would make the quilt for his teacher. I never had done any sewing before. My mom used to do quilts and I'm only sorry I did not pay attention to her quilting then, it's almost five years ago she passed away. I did get my sewing machine. Right away I got online and looked for free quilting patterns. I found one that I really liked. It was the attic window. Sinced my mom really enjoyed birds and flowers, that was what I used. I gave the quilt to my aunt. Only wished I could have given it to my mom. I did the quilts for the teachers, my son had two his first year. I have really enjoyed this site, I'm learning a lot from you guys and I know I'm going to learn a whole lot more. I can use all the help.I also learned why many sew, it's so relaxing. I really enjoy it. Thanks for the pretty pictures. I'm only sorry I didn't take pictures of my quilts I've done and given away. Smiles
