My sister-in-law had it done and didn't follow the doctor's advice of NO HEAVY LIFTING! She lifted the laundry basket and snapped the band. My MIL on the other hand had the surgery and listened to the doctor. She is just fine but I can't remember how long she was off lifting duty.
