I work for a county school district, as a specialist. I liked my job, I had a great boss, and an ideal job. There are no teaching jobs here, so if I quit, I may not find another job. There have been hundreds of lay offs in my area in education. The reduction of pay isn't the big problem, it's the travel time and costs involved. I figure it will cost about 600 to 800 in gas per month to drive, that is a lot of money. That doesn't count wear and tear on the car or the increased insurance or maintenace.

But when I look at the other side, no job, I'm lucky. I was kept when others with senority were laid off.

Things are bad and I don't know when they will get better. Our unemployment is as high as 25% when they count in the agriculture workers. I hope the economy begins to turn around.
