My church is sending Helmet Liners to Iraq. They are fairly easy to knit but have to be made from 100% wool and the label must accompany the liner (the reason being they have to be made from 100% wool and not a blend as acrylic is flamable). We are using Patons wool and the pattern can be found at: http//www.michaels.com/art/online/ProjectPrint?width=80&pid=25769
It took me about 6 hours to knit the first one and I used double pointed needles (USA 6 and USA7) and a circular 16" needle.
The pattern says it takes 2 hours to complete one, it would be nice to be able to knit that fast.LOL I thought I was a pretty quick knitter but that would be really amazing to see.
