I loved helping the quilters because their fabric was easier to cut, rather than some of the kooky novelty fabrics. Faux fur is the the devil ;-)
I managed a Minnesota Fabrics (remember them??!!) many years ago. We loved helping our customers! We really established a good relationship with them. That isn't to say we always had wonderful customers as we had our share of stinkers, but a little sugar goes a long way in changing someone's attitude! I, too liked cutting the "normal" fabrics best. I really didn't like cutting the fur and the silky, slippery fabric. We also had to cut foam -- YUCK!!! That was a pain in the patootie!!  But you simply did your job and made the best of any situation. It is really sad how poor the customer service has become -- not only in some fabric stores, but everywhere!! I really miss the old days of the customer coming first!!
