if i absolutely love the fabric and think it would work well for borders i buy 3 yards...so i can cut my borders to length, otherwise i collect 1 & 2 yard pieces of everything else...
i LOVE planning a quilt this way...collecting fabulous fabrics for when the perfect project comes along ;)
