Thanks for all your comments, please keep them coming, since I am still deciding what to do. Making it the way it is would be faster and easier. Doing a variety of stars would take a whole lot more time. I have 5 each of the two sizes of sawtooth stars done. I keep trying to make other stars, but they don't seem to be coming together as well. However, I don't want to complete it quickly then wish I had done it differently.
