My 9 year old GD stayed with me for a week. When I asked her if she would like to learn how to sew on the sewing machine her eyes got real big and she said "Oh Gramma, could I?" I have tears in my eyes as I type this. She had never touched a machine in her life. I had left over squares from the quilt I made her for her birthday and let her arrange them to her liking. Usin a piece of scrap I explained about "right sides together". I had her then sew the scraps together. She did great. I pinned each square for her and she did all the sewing. In 3 hours she had her pillow done! I helped cut out a back and we stuffed it with left over batting. She even hand sewed the opening we used to stuff it. She very happy and so am I!
