I've did some quilt restoration in my business too and I find it always depends on the quilt on how you are going to get it back in decent shape. One quilt I had to take apart seam by seam and then resew everything. The person who had orginally sewn it, had used too wide of a stitch and it started coming apart at the seams. And then the lady had someone who didn't know anything about quilts try to fix those seams and she glued them together. What a mess!! After taking apart, I then had to remove glue before sewing again. But it turned out so cute when I accomplished it. And the lady was beyond thrilled.
