Quiltrestoration.com has classes or DVD's available covering the subject. they also discuss dating the anatiquity of quilts as well.

Google search quilt restoration methods & see what you can find. You will probably find info on washing your quilt stains away as well. Worth a shot. :D

The computer is a wealth of info..........I think all quilters love Google. it's the first place I look.......If you have a local library check there, you will find many books with many methods. There is no right or wrong it depends on each quilt and its shape and condition'''''''good luck

I've did some quilt restoration in my business too and I find it always depends on the quilt on how you are going to get it back in decent shape. One quilt I had to take apart seam by seam and then resew everything. The person who had orginally sewn it, had used too wide of a stitch and it started coming apart at the seams. And then the lady had someone who didn't know anything about quilts try to fix those seams and she glued them together. What a mess!! After taking apart, I then had to remove glue before sewing again. But it turned out so cute when I accomplished it. And the lady was beyond thrilled.
