As one of the quilters said, this design does remind me of my father's stripes on his uniform. That's the reason I was so taken with the design...it reminded me of my father's stripes.

That is one of the first things I noticed as I was piecing it together...the stripes remind me of rank stripes on military uniforms. My hubby was in the Army for 9 years. My sister and one of my brothers are currently serving. My dad, grandfather and several uncles also served. Wow..... I never realized how much military there is in my family until I started listing them!
