That is one of the first things I noticed as I was piecing it together...the stripes remind me of rank stripes on military uniforms. My hubby was in the Army for 9 years. My sister and one of my brothers are currently serving. My dad, grandfather and several uncles also served. Wow..... I never realized how much military there is in my family until I started listing them!

Happy Independence Day everyone! Have a safe and happy 4th!!

*Edit* I will try to put together a tute for this kind of table runner.
