This is exactly why I hesitate to purchase kits. If I ever purchase one in a store, I will have them open it up to see the fabric. I learned the hard way. I purchased an expensive kit when I was on a trip in Canada. When I got it home, and much later opened it up, there were only 2 usable fabrics. It was so far off the demo they had in the store, and what was on the package.

This was a wall-hanging with wildlife, lots of applique, and definite designs. I could only use the fish fabric, and one brown for the bears. Of course, I couldn't return it, and it had been a long time before I opened it. I know it wasn't the store owners fault. I got on line, went to the fabric line, and was able to get all that I needed. The rest...just went into my stash, and will be used.

I learned a valuable lesson from that experience. It is frustrating.
