what is a Min Pin?
-------------------
That's short for Miniature Pinscher. Absolutely
not much like a Doberman, we had several rescue
Dobies for many years. I wouldn't suggest them for
an apartment, yet I know darn well that if I lived in
some places I've seen, I would want such a guard!

The Min Pin is sorta more like the Chihuahua, the ones
I've seen are kinda on the nervous side. Pretty little
things, but flighty and jumpy.

My daughter had a Yorkshire Terrier that my granddaughter
saved from the boarding kennel she worked at in the summer. The people who ran the place had thrown it over the fence since the dog's owners hadn't returned to get it. GD called the SPCA because of the bad care all the animals were getting.
She looked the SPCA guy right in the eyes and told him
the Yorkie was hers. The guy just smiled and said for her to take "her" dog right to the vet. Cyril had to have almost all his
teeth pulled and long toe nails clipped. He lived several years
after that and loved them devotedly. Did NOT like children, had
a snarl that would have made a Doberman nervous! He was an
excellent watch dog, and if he had weighed 50 pounds he would have been a killer. And had more than the 4 back teeth left!!

I would suggest one of the small Spaniel group, they seem to
be more laid back and mellow around strangers and kids.
