we've had 3 basenjis and loved them but they are high energy. Great around kids. Very protective and gentle. My son has a pug and he is high maintence. Ears, wrinkles, diet and SHEDDING. my bichon is our 13th dog and our best choice. fun playfull great with kids and no shedding
