I have 2 toy poodles, 1 was yippy, 1 wasn't they are 15-1/2 yr.s old now and hard of hearing, only bark if we don't let them out of their crates in the evening, as fast as they think we should. Very good dogs and each has their own personality.
I now also have a Long legged Chihuahua, weighs about 7 Lb.s, very high energy, would be best as only dog, I can't do that as I also have 4 cats, only 2 will come around her. She came the Humane Society - never thought that would be a good place to get a dog and ---- I was right, wouldn't get another dog there. I bought my poodles from breeders --- only way to go.
Poodles don't shed, cats do and so does Chihuahua, hair is very short, not really a problem.
