Duffy is my wonderful little dog and my avitar. He is a 4-year old Border Terrier. Duffy weighs around 18 pounds, is sturdily built, and loves to play and run. He is 4, but he still acts like a puppy.
Although I have had intelligent, good dogs during my life, Duffy is by far the most amazing one. He is a joy, kind, gentle, and loving. I am so blessed to have been able to share my life with Duffy.
Duffy was and is easy to train. His main goal in life is to please me. He is not yappy, and, although he loves to go for walks, he is content hanging out at home. Borders should be brushed on a regular basis, about once a week. If you want, their coats may be stripped, the same as Schnauzers. However, they do not have to be stripped, they can be left "au natural."
I would suggest that you consider getting a Border Terrier. There is a National Border Terrier Rescue site. You might want to start with these folks, if you think you would like to live with a Border Terrier.
