I learned to make the paper box from a coworker who was from Pakistan. She said when she was a girl they made them when they camped and let the smoke carry the paper boxes up in the air.

Thanks Rhonda...I haven't made one of these in years. Used to do all the time back in grade school, so it's been ages. We never used them over a fire, or for bug catching, but I do see the raw potential there!
