We told Child and Youth that we wanted to adopt and that we wanted a child 6 months or younger....they gave us a child with plenty of family involved and she was 2! I know we could have said no, but how do you say no to a child who needs you! We love her so much! We miss her every single day. Her pictures are all over our house. When I stood there crying the social worker said "it was just a bad match, things will be better next time". She left us on a Friday, I went home and didn't get out of bed until Monday. I knew we couldn't do that again (even thought C & Y asked us to continue!). My younger DD hurt the most. She was so excited to be a big sister!!!!! We couldn't put her through that again either. We need to know that it's forever! Our hearts are open and ready, we just don't want to hurt like that again. We pray every day that there is a baby out there for us to love!!! We weren't planning on telling the girls until we were further along, but we couldn't keep it from them. Everyone is so excited!!!! I told my younger DD yesterday that she needed to get her room cleaned and organized for the homestudy....she ran right up and started cleaning!!!!! Normally there are tears involved when it is cleaning time, so her running right up tells us something! And our older dd has been walking around for about a week with a baby name book and a notebook writing down names and getting our votes on what we like. They are both just so excited!!! We couldn't ask for a better time to welcome a new life into our home. We are hoping this won't be our last adoption either. Right now we want a new born, but after this we are open to any age, so long as the "birth" order is maintained.

Boy can I ramble!

Hope you have a great night!!!!
