I really hope it gets where it needs to go. I think you have some great suggestions here. Don't put too much faith in the post office to work miracles, though. One of our packages went missing once. The postal worker claimed that he had delivered it to us properly, even though he had a long history of delivering things to the wrong address. He even claimed he had a signed manifest (since the package was insured and had delivery confirmation), though he never produced it. The package was never recovered, and the post office was completely unwilling to help. I really hope this works out for you guys, and it's recovered quickly.
