I'm not a recent empty nester (my kids are all married and have kids of their own now).
But I well remember the days they went off to college.

As much as I looked forward to their visits home I found myself slowly learning to like having less "mother-ing" to do. I raised them to stand on their own 2 feet and they were doing it (or beginning to)....

You'll never be 100% glad they're gone....but you'll learn to hate it a little less. I've found it's a love/hate situation.
