I used todrive a bus. English as a second alnguage (ESL) is a fortune. they go in early more money for busses, breakfast at schol, heating/airconditions, extra teachers and o.t., lunch ladies,(to serve breakfast) janitors, lightig, drivers, monitors, books, addws up and taxes go up. these people get ot pay, our taxes. shool's are on austerity, can't afford sports, band art cos extra $$$$ is goig for esl. people get laid off and never replaced, things are terrible on Long Island, they are leaving in droves for the south an midwest. there's jobs at fast food, at minimum wage, they hire for 10 hr shifts, so now you EMPLOYED. it's bad here. altoof foreclosures on every block in every neighborhood.
My mom used to be a an ESL teacher when she was writing her paper for her masters degree she studied about IMMERSION. I think that we should try that method in the US. It forces the student to learn the main language in a country faster than other methods.
