I was still in bed - working only part time then. Pat was deployed at the time to France. My GF called me screaming into the phone. I remember sitting on the couch and watching the second plane go into the building. As many times as I have seen that image, I still cannot get my mind around it.
We were lucky because Pat was able to come home. Military planes were allowed while commercial ones were still grounded. It was real important to have my honey close. Regardless where we went, there was a connection to someone lost. It touched us all. That was an attack on humanity - not just an attack on the US.
