Thanks for your comments. Regarding the Bernina, the only model with the wide quilting harp is the 830 which costs $A12,000, way out of my budget. I'm looking to spend $4,000 max to start with. Over the years I will probably buy software and extras as I learn how to fully appreciate the machine. As I am 56 this machine is probably going to last me the rest of my sewing life, thats why its so important I get the right machine!
