Having test driven both, I am having difficulty deciding. The Topaz has the bigger hoop, the Sewing Advisor, Sensor system and attachable walking foot. The Pfaff has the IDT (built in dual feed) and similar features and stitches to the Topaz?? The prices are within $A200 as the Husqvarna is on special at the moment. I would really appreciate any feedback that might help me decide!
I have all Husqvarna Vikings. I have a Topaz, which I love. I also have the Diamond which is beyond amazing. I love the large hoops, all the fancy stitches, and the USB. I don't know anything about any of the other manufacturers, but I know that a few weeks ago I had a problem with the Diamond and took it to my dealer. It was under warranty, they replaced the entire circuit board or whatever it is called and I got the machine back within 2 weeks; no problelms. I think the Topaz is a good value. My 9 year old DGD calls it her machine, she loves sewing with it and can even embroider without help on it. I think if you check out other machines you will find they are also foreign made; what isn't?
