Quilts For Kids, sponsored by Downy Fabric Softener. They send you a pre-cut quilt kit and pattern, and ask that you put it together, quilt it to their specifications, and send one back of your own. Your own quilt can be their pattern or your own, but must fit their parameters that are listed on the pattern page. All specifications are to safeguard the childrens' health. Around the world is correct...it is my understanding that a large number of quilts were sent to Haiti after the earthquake.
It makes me feel like I'm doing a little something for some of the children in this world who might need a little comfort to wrap themselves in, and maybe that child will be able to remember getting it when things might look dim in the future.
I've got more time than money, as as long as my scleroderma permits, I'm going to keep at it....
