We don't have pet insurance. I have never looked into it to know if it's worth it or not. I would be leery that it wouldn't cover everything needed. My Ruby Darlin' will be nine years old in October and we have spent so much money on her at the vet and specialists that we call her 'The Million Dollar Baby'.
