Google the "Pros and Cons of pet insurance". Most money people agree that " For most people, pet insurance will probably cost more than it will save. As with any insurance product, from auto to homeowners, you're betting that your total vet expenses will be higher than the amount you've paid in premiums and other costs." (source: http://www.usnews.com/usnews/biztech....htm?s_cid=rss:site1)
I self-insure but you must be disciplined. I save $50 a month for pet health care costs. I now have a very tidy little nest egg should the worst happen and if it doesn't happen that money is mine not some pet insurance company's.

Of course they are...but have you paid a vet bill lately? For even something as simple as pulling teeth? It's every bit as expensive as human medical bills....over $100 just for a check up...

I so agree with you on this! Vets today are such rip offs! They way overcharge for everything!!! But they can do it because they know that we NEED them if we have pets. Just a simple checkup is 100 bucks! its crazy!
