Mom was born and raised in California but has always said she's doin' the warsh, going to Warshington, etc. I remember asking her to spell wash when I was a teenager to show her that there wasn't an "r" to pronounce and I think I can still taste the soap in my mouth! Now I live in the south and say ya'll, ask if the tea is sweet and remember to ask for pop when we travel North. Oh, and found out what a grinder is last summer, that sure had us stumped.
