I first started sewing on a Singer treadle when I was very young and of course the shiny black machine carries many memories. What would you suggest I clean this girl with? Would blade wash be suitable? Son't wat anything to ruin the decals but want her to shine. I have the instruction book and it says to fill the two motor grease tubes about every 6 months. What wouold you suggest I use? I really enjoy seeing everyones machines. I feel lucky to have this one even though it may not be a real valuable one. Mary M

I will take tea!
A drop of oil in the oil tubes about every year or so is plenty for the motor. Here is the tutorials that I did on cleaning the vintage machines. There are 3 in the series and if it is electrical then you need to look at my electrical tutorial.
